With that in mind, I've found a 32GB SSD for the OS, /home and
swap, and a nice SATA-to-IDE adapter which fits the slot meant
for a CD-RW/DVD drive in my T42 Thinkpad.  Normally, there's no
place to put a second internal drive in those things.  Large
capacity drives with an IDE interface are also getting harder to
find, these days, so a SATA adapter would let me get a few more
years use out of this machine.

I don't use optical media much anyway, and it can be swapped for
the original optical drive if I need it.  But knowing me, I'd
probably keep my .iso files on the second hard drive and, uh...
Oh, wait, that's not going to work, is it?  :-\

Anyway, I'll let you know how it turns out, when I get around
to building it.
