[Discuss] EPUB Ubuntu Calibre Android Issues [RESOLVED] Plus+

Hello,

Thanks to the suggestions of Andrew and Ken, EPUB books
from Calibre are now working fine on that Android tablet.

Both FBReader and Aldiko load and display the EPUB format
books without the artefacts previously plaguing EReader.

For those interested in the technical details the pad is
a HipStreet Aurora 2, Model HS_7DTB14,
O.S. is Android 4.1.1 , Kernel version 3.0.8.

In the intervening time the owner of the tablet
discovered that Sony's e-ink reader was a more readable
display, held more books, and required less charging.

Oh well....
They can still watch videos and play games on the
Android tablet.

Thanks again for the suggested EBook applications. They work great.


Other interesting things to note:

There are SSH clients that work great (Juice SSH)
and allow remote system administration and tunnels via tablets.
There are also VNC and X11 clients available.

I wonder if a tablet would make a good X-ORG thin client.
This particular brand appears to allow for a blue-tooth keyboard.

This could make $80 tablets valuable as control and information
panels around the house. A little velcro would make one
of these a good cabinet mounted recipe book in the kitchen or
thermostat/stereo controller. The possibilities are endless.
