I tried a sledge hammer on an old drive -- as hard as I hit the disk 
inside, it refused to break! I heard of someone taking a blow torch to 
the disk -- that would probably work. Of course, you can take it to the 
facility on Glanford and they will physically shred the whole thing, but 
last time I checked, they charged quite a bit for the service
