I didn't get a completely clear answer on residential.  The
general rule of thumb was, as long as it's not malicious, not
maxing-out your bandwidth, doesn't interfere with others' use
of the network [which overlaps with the bandwidth-hogging
thing], no problem.  It's also hard to answer that with a
definitive yes or no, because the phrase `running a server'
gives no sense of scale, could mean anything from `I want my
own home-page' to `I want to be Google.'

Trying to be Google over a household connection is definitely
out.

Actually, it was a pretty unusual question.  The first person I
talked to passed me along to someone more experienced, who, after
figuring out what the question was, passed me to the web-hosting
tech support.  *Then* it got informative.

Doing this via a small business account removes a *lot* of doubt,
but even that has its limits.

He said I could get a better answer from Sales, but I'd already
been on the phone for a while, and it seemed a bit much for a
hypothetical [for me, for now] question.  I am tempted though.
