[Discuss] Free Introduction to Linux’ Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Announced by The LINUX Foundation

Well, I registered, but if I remember correctly, the option I chose was the non-certificate/audit one which is completely free. I might be interested in a local discussion group -- perhaps starting with the BB&C Linux SIG which is the first Saturday morning of each month.  This could be a topic for the August 2nd SIG meeting.

Well, I had a look at the "Intro to Linux" course at EdX.  It starts on
Aug 1st 2014.

According to EdX, at registration one has the choice between a minimum
$250 fee for the Verified Certificate track, a free Honor Code
Certificate track (which requires an explanation as to why you can't pay
for the Verified Certificate track), and a free Audit track.

I can't afford the Verified Certificate, so the choice for me is between
Audit and Honor Code.

Has anyone here (in Victoria) registered for this course?  Or wants to? 
It would be nice to have a local study group.

BTW was running Linux Mint for a while, now on OpenSuse (on an old
laptop).  Mint is nice, would like to use it as well eventually.
