[Discuss] Kubuntu 15.04 64 Bit on Intel Compute Stick

Hello,

Just wanted to mention that Kubuntu 15.04 Desktop (64 bit) boots fine on
Intel Compute-stick.

The Intel compute-stick is a palm sized, Atom core-2 based, SOC device 
that will plug directly into the HDMI port of your HDTV.

The device comes in two forms.

One form comes with Ubuntu (with yucky unity desktop <BLETCH!!!>). Thus 
my quest to install Kubuntu. Other distros and desktops will also work.

There is also a windows 8.0 form that has more memory and flash disk 
space. I suggest that those interested in buying one get the windows
version and then boot with a live USB to install Linux. The additional
RAM and flash disk space make the desktop faster.

XRandr works fine with the Intel SOC display and allows you to set up 
underscan to accommodate the HDTV bezel.

I recommend purchasing a USB hub to allow multiple devices to be plugged
into the single available port. Logitech has a small wireless keyboard
with a built in touch-pad that works great in the family room for
keyboard/mouse. Additional USB ports allow you to mount thumb drive for
working on files, showing powerpoint presentations, etc..

Tuxracer works and looks great on the big screen with the Logitech
USB game controller (or multiple controllers).

For work purposes the stick with cables, USB hub, 
mini-keyboard/touch-pad, thumb drive, USB serial port adaptor, bluetooth 
cellphone with modem, all fits into a shaving/ bath bag.

With any HDMI TV you have a full office suite in a package smaller
than an ultralight notebook.

It also has Tux Racer.
