I have been playing with CubLINUX for a bit, and will bring the live
DVD. It looks interesting. It took me a while to find out where to
locate the LINUX applications and to figure out how to unlock the screen
when I had been away for a while. For a novice not wedded to M$ Windows,
it might be a reasonable alternative to Zorin OS. The current release is
based upon Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, so is a bit old, and the implication is
that it is really a Beta release. Version 2.0 is supposed to be based
upon 16.04 which might be better (unless you are using Network Manager
and trying to connect to a Telus WiFi network). I don't really know
enough about Chrome Books to comment on how closely it resembles them,
but from an initial impression, and some reviews, I think that its basic
appearance is probably a lot like a Chromebook. The LINUX stuff does not
intrude, and a Chromebook user might never have to see it at all.
Nevertheless, once you figure out how to find it, you can quite easily
use it as a LINUX computer or a Chromebook one. So far, with my limited
testing, it looks pretty good.

I would not switch to it for myself, but it might be suitable for some
people. Certainly, the Chromium browser seems to be very fast and
reliable. The overall appearance looks good to me.
