[Discuss] Raspberry Pi low voltage indication

Hello,

On the various Pis here, I found the plastic case can be problematic for some cables.
The case wall can impede full insertion of the cable into the power USB port, especially if the USB port is soldered in with a set-back too close to the board edge.
This makes it so the thickness of the case plastic is not fully taken into account for plugging in cables that have a large shoulder around the metal tang.
Some cables also have a longer metal end, or smaller plastic moulding around it, allowing full insertion.
The shorter ended ones only half insert into the USB connector making the power connection loose, or even intermittent.

This can be remedied by either using a different case with a larger hole around the USB port, or scraping/cutting away the plastic from the case around the hole where the USB port is located.

Something to check for if it’s intermittent.
