@Andrew:

It has been a long time since I posted to VLUG.  So if for some reason
this posting to the VLUG mailing list from Barbara's shaw account
doesn't work, I would be happy to try any tests you need to help you
fix it.

@LIST:

N.B. After many years where the combination of getmail and gmail could
easily be used to download ANY email from alan.w.irwin1234 at gmail.com
to our Linux PC, that process quit working last June.  At that time I
found some cursory documentation about how to get that process to work
again, but that documentation was so terse and presumed so much
knowledge on my part concerning configuring my google account, that I
could not follow it!  So if anyone here has had *recent* success
configuring the combination of getmail and gmail, please let the VLUG
list know what you did.
