After the last reboot, my display came up in very low resolution. It looks as if it is no longer properly detecting my video card/monitor, or the drivers have gotten clobbered. I tried to switch drivers, after which it doesn't work at all!

Now when I reboot, the monitor says:
DSUB
OUT OF RANGE
75.6KHz - 60Hz

I can boot into recovery mode and check disks, etc. (it says everything is OK), and can get into console mode but I don't know what to do next to repair the display system.
I tried a live DVD of Kubuntu 15.10, and the resolution is bad there as well.

There does not seem to be much point in doing a fresh install if the live DVD doesn't work properly! Is there anything I should check in the EFI/BIOS? There is not much room for an external video card if there is something wrong with the on-board video. Perhaps I could try installing a different driver, but would not know what to look for.
Any suggestions would be most helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Murray
