If the router did a IA_NA request (request an address) then the PD would only be a /64. But if there was no IA_NA in the request, the PD would be a /56! Because IPv6 can use link-local addresss a Globally Routable Address (GUA) is not needed on the WAN interface (of the router). </span>I know folks aren't exactly the most fond of the big players but for<br>
the record TELUS does offer IPv6 support, it's just not the easiest to<br>
get connected to if you want to use your own modem.<br>

implement IPv6 assignment on their network in a fashion that is<br>
allowed by the standard but not commonly implemented. I'm going by<br>
memory but it's some sort of combination between how they respond to<br>
the DHCPv6 request. A host sending just an IA-PD will work fine,<br>
whereas as host sending both an IA-NA and IA-PD with get a No Address<br>
Avail response to the IA_NA and a proper prefix in response to the<br>
IA-PD. This throws a lot of implementations as it's allowed per RFC<br>
but rarely used. Sophos UTM for example chokes as they send both and<br>
expect both, whereas pfsense you can tweak to only use IA-PD.<br>
