I talked with Mark on the phone and resolved the issue.<br>

The problem is that the PC was configured to use a static IP address for the <br>
LAN, a 192.x.x.x number, while the new modem was providing a 10.x.x.x LAN, as <br>
evidenced by what the Mac saw.<br>
<br>
The solution was to change the PC to get its IP address automatically rather <br>
than manually, which resolved the issue.<br>
<br>
And then the Mac could see the PC resource on the network.<br>
<br>
Mark still has an outstanding other issue where the Mac only can get on the <br>
internet via Wifi, but only talk to the printer through Ethernet, and other <br>
details we explored but I won't get into here. But there seems to be a <br>
functional setup now, to some definition of functional.<br>
