Your ever-loving secretary missed the start of this meeting (stuck in
ferry limbo), so most of these minutes are based on notes provided by Carl
"Captain Meeting" Constantine.
Announcements
Carl welcomed everyone to the meeting and introduced the usual suspects:
Andrew Willard, who talked about the club's merchandising; Randy Esdon, who
told about the benefits and discounts for members; and Barbara Irwin, who
talked about Linux books at the public library. Recent news:
- Chris and CaroLyn tied the knot; congratulations!
- XFree 4.0 is coming. Among other things, it offers a direct rendering
interface.
- Red Hat getting flak over its certification program.
- RealPlayer 7 for Linux
- Canvas 7
- Corel Photopaint 4
