[Discuss] Email App

Thanks Brendan, I found sylpheed had morphed into Claws Mail on my
openSuse. I gave it a try along with KMail and found that they both, as
you pointed out with respect to Thunderbird, had an option not to
download messages automatically. So my comparison criteria became how
well I could shrink the layout to show a message list only minimizing
the space it takes up on the desktop but still show useful information.
I found I could do this with Kmail making it look similar to my tablet
email app and clicking on a message popped up the message window.
Running works well for me since I use the KDE desktop. There is also a
panel notifier if desired that can be configured to annoy you visually
or with a sound each time you receive mail. My only hesitation is that
Kmail does have a buggy reputation. However, I will try it out for a few
weeks on my Netbook where no get harm can occur to any of my data.
