[Discuss] malware cleaner for Linux? Any ideas which one and how to use?

The answer to that is comparatively simple. I didn't want a repeat 
performance. So, to that end, I was looking for a file 'cleaner' that 
could clean up the files. (I had one in Windows which worked quite well. 
It wasn't an anti-virus, but it did clean out spam, even stuff that had 
been around for awhile.) Unfortunately I can't remember the name of it. 
Clamav gave me a clear scan, but it is, like any antivirus, only that; 
can't get rid of other malware with it. That was the reason for my 
request; to get rid of the "et cetera" stuff that I neither requested 
nor responded to.
