Systems Administrator (Linux) / Software Developer (C/C++)
Job Description

industrial sensing project.

Responsibilities
● Software engineering design and development for industrial, automated sensing contracts including
firmware design, driver development, OS customization, and developing production architectures.
● Hardware sourcing and software development of low-level, modular components for interfacing with
sensors.
● System administration/operations for production and testing systems.
● Assistance for deployment of systems.
● The above primarily on custom Linux platforms.
● Creating/archiving documentation of software and technical processes.
Skills
● Deep knowledge and experience with the Linux operating system including scripting, kernel
patching, firmware design, and driver development.
● Open Embedded.
● Networking: SSH, VPN, network configuration.
● C/C++.
● Python, Javascript, other programming languages an asset.
● Ability to thrive in an R&D environment with many unknowns.
● Strong yet empathic communication skills (verbal and written).
● Work well in teams.

Experience
● 5+ years of Linux system administration
● 3-5 years combined programming experience in C/C++ (other languages welcome)
● Demonstrable open-source development experience is an asset and counts towards your work
experience.
Education
● Bachelor of Computer or Software Engineering or Computer Science
● Alternative degrees are welcome, if you can demonstrate knowledge of Computer Science
principles and concepts.
