[Discuss] Strange behaviour in recent new install of Ubuntu 15.10

Hello,

Did you retain your old home directory?
Try creating an extra user on the same machine with a clean home 
directory. Log in as that user and try all those things with the new user.

Maybe you have some inaccessible files in the hidden
settings directories in your user path.
