[Discuss] Cannot connect to TELUS WiFi

I am visiting my sister and trying to connect to her TELUS WiFi from XUbuntu 16.04 without success. I can connect OK with Windows 7, Windows 10, Android Smart Phone, and iPad mini as well as from a Live USB XUbuntu 15.04. The only difference I can see in the WiFi settings in the installed version of 16.04 and the Live version of 15.04 is that when I edit the settings for this network, in the installed version (which does not work), under the WiFi tab, the "Mode" options available are:
Client
Hotspot
Ad-hoc

I have tried them all, but Client is the only one that gives me WPA & WPA2 Personal option under WiFi Security. None work.

In the 15.04 Live system (which does connect OK), the Mode options are:
Infrastructure
Ad-hoc

Infrastructure is the mode that works. I called TELUS Customer Support. The agent told me that they don not support LINUX, and in the three years he has worked there, I was the first one to use LINUX, but that he was pretty certain that the mode must be "Infrastructure".

So, my question is "how do I get Infrastructure mode" in the installed LINUX system? Is there something I can copy from the live installation over to the appropriate place on the drive containing the installed system? Or is there some other way to get that Mode on the installed system.

Thanks for any assistance.

Murray
