OK, I found out that it is necessary to check the box beside "Remote
Monitoring" in order to access the UPS connected to my FreeNAS system
with the GUI NUT Monitor. I think it can only monitor the UPS and issue
commands to the UPS, not shut down my computer when there is a power
failure. So far, I have been unable to find a GUI that can do this.
The documentation for NUT Monitor (and KNut as well) is pretty sketchy.
