It's been a good number of years since I've looked at any ppd file.
IIRC you can load it through the cups web interface. (YMMV as it's been
a decade since I've seriously looked at cups.) Run file(1) on the ppd
file to tell you about the file, as it could be something other than a
ppd file. The file(1) man page is your friend.
