KDE comes with krfb (Kde Remote Frame Buffer?) but I'm not thrilled with
it. I have *x11vnc* on my laptop so I can access it remotely.
On my KDE PC, krdc (Kde Remote Desktop *Client*) is good for connecting
to VNC stuff...

I've used tight-vnc, but not sure if that's a good option these days.
TigerVNC sounds oddly similar
I haven't used Vino in ... a decade+.
I did an install on my KDEneon desktop (on top of Ubuntu 20.04) and it
didn't have a file called "/etc/dconf/site" either.
Probably best to either a) forego encryption if on LAN, b) install a VPN
(WireGuard is quite nice and wickedly fast).
Not the best info above, but hopefully it'll arrive quickly enough to
salvage a Saturday evening.
