Hi John: Yes, I've been using Cinnamon for the last couple of releases 
of Linux Mint (16,17)
I like it because, like me, it is simple and straightforward to use. It 
sorts out the software into (for me) sensible categories (games, 
internet, office, &c.&c.)
It is enough like the old Gnome interface that it was easy to get onto, 
then as I progressed, I found these extra conveniences that made it 
really fun to use.
