I stand corrected! I have found on an OpenSuse forum that it is planned 
to include Plasma 5 in the next official repository release of OpenSuse 
13.2 (current release 13.1). I am unsure if this is a replacement for 
Plasma 4 or an option. OpenSuse 13.1 was released in November 2013 so 
13.2 may only be a month or two or even weeks away.

I just hope that Plasma 5 release comes with all the basic KDE apps 
working. When KDE switched from 3 to 4, many of the default apps were 
replaced by apps still under development e.g Konqueror was replaced by 
Dophin etc, and the new apps did not work for several later versions.
