[Discuss] Linux Mint on iMac PPC from external hard drive

Stuart,

I use an Intel MacBook so am not familiar with PPC macs. Did you try 
booting from a live cd of mint (or any other distro) just to be sure 
that particular distribution works? I had to go with a second choice 
because the first one could not get X running (or some associated 
dependency - did not look too deeply). Does Mint say it runs on PPC? You 
may need to get a PPC specific distro.
