Hi All,

The attendance of the VLUG meetings has been low of recent. Makes for
friendly conversations, but also danger of having no one show up.

As a co-organizer of the VicPiMakers group (there are no membership costs),
and the fact that the Raspberry Pi runs Linux, there are more than a few
people who would bee interested in attending VLUG/Linux SIG meetings. I
have talked to the VicPiMakers Steering Group (any one can attend) about
putting up Linux SIG (aka VLUG) meeting announcements up on Meetup.com (a
meeting coordination webiste), and they have agreed that it is mutually
beneficial. With that I have announced the first Linux SIG meeting for this
coming October (you need sign-up with Meetup, if you want to
comment/join/etc, but you don't just to see the link)

But I am not the only one trying to get like Linux minds together learning
and discussing techy things. There is another meetup group which has 35
members (11 are from VicPiMakers) called the Victoria Linux Meetup

They haven't had a meeting yet (as I see), but clearly there are others in
Victoria who are interested in Linux.

Perhaps this can be a topic of discussion at the next meeting on 7 Oct.
